Swine flu is an infection caused by a virus. It's named for a virus that pigs can affect pigs. People usually do not get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. The virus is contagious and can spread from human to human. Symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue.
Swine flu also known as swine influenza, hog flu and pig flu. In 2009 the media labeled as "swine flu" the flu caused by 2009's new strain of swine-origin A/H1N1 pandemic virus just as it had earlier dubbed as "avian flu" flu caused by the recent Asian-linage HPAI (High Pathogenic Avian Influenza) H5N1 strain that is still endemic in many wild bird species in several countries.
Swine flu is a new influenza virus causing illness in people. This new virus was first detected in people in the United States in April 2009. Other countries, including Mexico and Canada, have reported people sick with this new virus. This virus is spreading from person-to-person, probably in much the same way that regular seasonal influenza viruses spread.
Although symptoms have generally proved mild, a small number of patients will develop more serious illness. Many of these people have other underlying health conditions, such as heart or lung disease, that put them at increased risk.
On June 11, 2009, the World Health Organization (WHO) signaled that a global pandemic of novel influenza A (H1N1) was underway by raising the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 6. This action was a reflection of the spread of the new H1N1 virus, not the severity of illness caused by the virus. At the time, more than 70 countries had reported cases of novel influenza A (H1N1) infection and there were ongoing community level outbreaks of novel H1N1 in multiple parts of the world.

6 Ways to Protect yourself from Swine flu
Taking good care of your health can reduce or eliminate your risk of contracting the flu. The key is to keep your immune system strong by following these simple guidelines.
Lose Weight: New data has suggested that obesity, especially extreme obesity (BMI over 40), raises swine flu victims' chance of dying. The study, published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, looked at the cases of swine flu patients at a Michigan hospital, all of whom had to be placed on ventilators due to the severity of their illness. Being overweight reduces your immunity and therefore chances of contraction increases while recovery too becomes difficult.
Exercise: Blood circulation is required for your immune system to perform at its best for you. Spend 20-30 minutes daily by raising your heart beat to 130 beats per minute. Any form of exercise - running, weight training, playing sports like squash, tennis help.
Eliminate Sugar From your Diet: Apart from a number of health problems like cancer, sugar is also responsible for faster aging and reducing your immunity against diseases. Avoid all forms of white sugar starting today.
Stop Junk Food: Similar to Sugar, junk food has an immediate, weakening effect on your immune system.
Get Plenty of Sleep: Too little sleep may reduce levels of leptin, possibly causing people to gain weight, develop diabetes, and weaken your immune system. Getting around 7 hours of good quality sleep is sufficient. Note that excessive sleeping too is dangerous to your health.
Relax: If you feel overwhelmed by stress, your body will not have the reserves it needs to fight infection. Long-term stress causes excessive wear on the body and activates a deterioration of the immune system.

Important general good health practice on Swine Flu
You may be aware the media has reported cases of Swine Flu outbreaks in India as well, where the state of Maharashtra (India), has invoked the Epidemic Diseases Act in the city of Pune (India) as a precaution. Please read the attached “Swine Flu Advisory” which provides links to latest information on reported cases, travel alerts as well as health and safety precautions.
As a general good health practice, all Associates should:
* Maintain good personal hygiene. Wash your hands frequently. Avoid touching your face. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
* Cover coughs and sneezes with a mask or a tissue. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing by infected people.
* Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
* Avoid people who are obviously sick.
* Stay at home if you are unwell.
· People who have not had an annual flu vaccination should consider having one to prevent regular seasonal flu.
If you feel you or your children have developed flu-like symptoms, please take the following steps immediately:
· Inform your Line Manager & Talent Manager immediately
· Undertake precautionary quarantine as soon as symptoms develop & until 48 hours after symptoms recede
· Volunteer for a thorough ‘Flu Check’ at an authorized hospitals, Clinics, or Doctors (Flu specialists)
· Follow the doctor’s advice and do not administer self medication

Nikola Tesla (10 July 1856 – 7 January 1943)
[From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia]Nikola Tesla (10 July 1856 – 7 January 1943) was an inventor and a mechanical and electrical engineer. Tesla was an ethnic Serb born in the village of Smiljan, Vojna Krajina, in the territory of today's Croatia. He was a subject of the Austrian Empire by birth and later became an American citizen.[2] Tesla is often described as an important scientist and inventor of the modern age, a man who "shed light over the face of Earth".[3] He is best known for many revolutionary contributions in the field of electricity and magnetism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Tesla's patents and theoretical work formed the basis of modern alternating current (AC) electric power systems, including the polyphase power distribution systems and the AC motor, with which he helped usher in the Second Industrial Revolution.
After his demonstration of wireless communication (radio) in 1894 and after being the victor in the "War of Currents", he was widely respected as one of the greatest electrical engineers who worked in America.[4] Much of his early work pioneered modern electrical engineering and many of his discoveries were of groundbreaking importance. During this period, in the United States, Tesla's fame rivaled that of any other inventor or scientist in history or popular culture,[5] but due to his eccentric personality and his seemingly unbelievable and sometimes bizarre claims about possible scientific and technological developments, Tesla was ultimately ostracized and regarded as a mad scientist.[6][7] Never having put much focus on his finances, Tesla died impoverished at the age of 86.
The SI unit measuring magnetic flux density or magnetic induction (commonly known as the magnetic field "B"), the tesla, was named in his honor (at the Conférence Générale des Poids et Mesures, Paris, 1960), as well as the Tesla effect of wireless energy transfer to wirelessly power electronic devices which Tesla demonstrated on a low scale (lightbulbs) as early as 1893 and aspired to use for the intercontinental transmission of industrial energy levels in his unfinished Wardenclyffe Tower project.
Aside from his work on electromagnetism and electromechanical engineering, Tesla contributed in varying degrees to the establishment of robotics, remote control, radar and computer science, and to the expansion of ballistics, nuclear physics,[8] and theoretical physics. In 1943, the Supreme Court of the United States credited him as being the inventor of the radio.[9] Many of his achievements have been used, with some controversy, to support various pseudosciences, UFO theories, and early New Age occultism.
He is well know for Tesla coil,Tesla turbine,Teleforce,Tesla's oscillator,Tesla electric car,Tesla principle,Tesla's Egg of Columbus,Alternating current,Induction motor,Rotating magnetic field,Wireless technology,Particle beam weapon,Death ray,Terrestrial stationary waves, Bifilar coil, Telegeodynamics, Electrogravitics.
